Diagnosis

We were called by Cumbria Police about a lady who’d suffered an ankle injury whilst trying to cross Lingmell Beck on the Brown Tongue path on Scafell Pike. We located her and her partner just above the normal crossing point. The injury was reduced on scene by the team doctor and splinted. The lady also needed some re-warming in the casualty bag and was then stretchered down to the valley and finally transferred into an ambulance for the journey to West Cumberland Infirmary. 18 WMRT involved, incident closed 19:00

Incident started at 15:00 and ended at 19:00 making 4 hrs in total. There were 18 Wasdale team members involved and the incident occured at NY 19768 07485 (altitude 371 m). Total rescuer hours: 72
