Diagnosis

The team was called out to assist Cockermouth MRT with a male casualty who slipped whilst descending from Pillar mountain to Wind Gap, resulting in a long slide down snow. He suffered injuries to his elbow and ribs. He was carried off the hill by Cockermouth and Wasdale team members assisted by RAF Leeming MRT team members who were in the area.

Incident started at 14:00 and ended at 20:00 making 6 hrs in total. There were 12 Wasdale team members involved and the incident occured at NY 167 121 (altitude 713 m). Total rescuer hours: 72
