We were called by Cumbria Police about a car and its 4 occupants who were reported to be stuck on Hardknott Pass. It was not possible to make contact with the informant by phone so a team vehicle was despatched to investigate. It turned out the car was on Wrynose rather than Hardknott pass. On arrival the car was helped back on to the road, which then made its own way back to Ambleside, also with help from Police and the AA. Incident closed 19:00, 11 WMRT involved.
Incident started at 17:35 and ended at 19:00 making 1.4 hrs in total. There were 11 Wasdale team members involved. Total rescuer hours: 15
