Many thanks to those who nipped down to our stall on Friday 15 August at Egremont farmers market and bought a cake/ donated, we raised a nice £605.60 for the team! Also, a big thank you to those of you who donated the cakes

Perfect weather for Seascale Gala today and consequently, lots of visitors so WMRT had a busy day, showing people our kit, talking about what it means to be a member, and selling our merchandise. Team members had a great time this week with a visit to St Patrick’s school, Cleator Moor. Pupils were shown around a response vehicle and medical bag. A demonstration from the team drone seemed to be especially interesting! Some future team members in a few years time?
Team members attended the Workington Fire Service community event today.
Sunshine, showers and rainbows yesterday at Wasdale Show. Lots of people to talk to, and plenty who volunteered to model our special leg splint. Thanks for all the support and generosity. We raised £435 for the team.
Lots of interest and engagement at the Eskdale Show today, despite the rainy weather. We made £278.44 in sales and donations from all the generous people who visited our stall. Thank you to all for making WMRT possible!
After a ferociously windy start, the Gosforth Show settled down into a really good day. The sun shone, lots of people came and WMRT made £325.14 from sales of merchandise and contributions. Big thanks to everyone for supporting us. Join us next at Eskdale Show 30th September. See you there!
A great day was had by all on a very hot Saturday at Drigg Gala. There were sack races, handmade ice creams, a tug of war and in the thick of it, Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team. Lots of our merchandise went to some happy customers and generous donations were offered. Read more…

Earlier this week we were delighted to host the West Cumbria Home Education group at our base. Team members organised activities to demonstrate: key first aid skills and knowledge; map reading and radios; and the range of equipment in our response vehicles.
