A call was received by North West Ambulance Service with a report that someone had been seriously injured with multiple injuries after falling from steep ground in Upper Eskdale.
A full callout was initiated quickly, and Helimed 75 was also tasked by NWAS. With communications difficult and a patchy mobile signal, the team prepared for a serious combined medical and technical rope rescue. However, the helicopter was able to land relatively close to the location, and the crew was able to walk safely to access the casualty and begin medical assessment and treatment. When the team arrived, they provided support to carefully package into the team stretcher and then transfer to the helicopter. The casualty was then flown to the hospital for further treatment. We wish him a quick and speedy recovery.
Thanks to the crew of Helimed 75 for their support.
