Team Members were delighted to meet Jon Ryley and his friends at the weekend at Base. Jon has been raising money for the team during 2020 and 2021. We are very grateful for his support, and congratulate him on his achievement. Jon said:

“A proud and defining moment having reached the top of Scafell Pike having walked over 2000 miles and raised over £3700 for Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team, who provide search and rescue cover for the mountains and valleys of Wasdale and Eskdale in the western Lake District. The area covers England’s highest mountains and Britain’s favourite view.

When Lockdown came along I started with the intention of walking 1000 miles and finishing on the top of Scafell Pike, well the 1000 miles was achieved on Christmas Day last year.

And again because of the continued Lockdown it was not possible to go up Scafell Pike so I extended the Target to 2000 miles and I passed that target this past week.
I would like to thanks all my friends, supporters and sponsors and most of all my parents Terry and Maureen Ryley for whom this walk was in memory of, thank you for all you did for me and Simon RIP xx”
