Whist responding to the exhausted man at Mickledore the team were informed that there was a man with a suspected broken ankle near Lingmell Gill just off Brown Tongue. He had injured his ankle slipping on a rock further up the fellside and whilst trying to move to get a phone signal had slid down towards the gill. Resources were split between the two incidents which included two stretchers being carried up the hill and calling in Duddon and Furness MRT for support.
At the stream crossing, as the light fades
The injured man was given analgesia before having his leg splinted and being loaded onto a stretcher for the descent. 8 Duddon and Furness and 11 Wasdale team members were involved in the stretcher carry down to Brackenclose where the casualty was transferred to an Ambulance to be taken to West Cumberland Hospital.
Incident started at 16:15 and ended at 20:00 making 3.8 hrs in total. There were 13 Wasdale team members involved and the incident occured at NY1993007473 (altitude 430 m). Total rescuer hours: 49
