Team called this afternoon for a walker who’d slipped whilst descending from Scafell Pike summit towards Broad Crag Col and injured their upper arm. In view of the location high on the mountain the Duddon and Furness Mountain Rescue Team were called as was the Coastguard helicopter from Prestwick. The casualty was treated on scene and given analgesia before being carried down Broad Crag scree and then down below the cloud to the waiting helicopter for the journey to hospital.
Incident started at 15:55 and ended at 21:49 making 5.9 hrs in total. There were 18 Wasdale team members involved and the incident occured at NY21680736. Total rescuer hours: 106
