Cumbria Police received a call about a message from the iPhone Emergency SOS stating a group of people were stranded. Although the weather had since improved, it had earlier been gale force winds, with streams and rivers running very high after torrential rain, meaning the party would have been out for some time in poor conditions. The team leader was unable to make contact, and as there was a location, a small group headed out. Once at the location, no one was there, and the team was stood down. It was possible to speak to the caller the following day to confirm they were all safe and well.
Incident started at 00:11 and ended at 07:45 making 7.6 hrs in total. There were 3 Wasdale team members involved and the incident occured at NY 21530 06008. Total rescuer hours: 23
