An alert through the night when the Team Leader was contacted by Cumbria Police about a camper who had not been contactable for some time. A friend was concerned for his safety.
After understanding the camper’s plans, it was assessed in conjunction with the police and decided that it was most likely that the camper was simply without any mobile signal in Upper Eskdale. As such, it was not deemed necessary to deploy the team. This was confirmed the following morning when the camper got in touch to say that all was well, after which the log was closed.
Incident started at 01:48 and ended at 09:53 making 8.1 hrs in total. There was 1 Wasdale team member involved and the incident occured at NY 21900 01329. Total rescuer hours: 8
