We were called by Police about a walker who was reported to have slipped and injured their arm somewhere near the crossing on Lingmell Gill. We went to the location indicated and also checked adjacent paths and the Wasdale Head Inn but could not find any trace of the casualty and we stood down. It is possible they’d walked down to Wasdale Head Green earlier and already gone to hospital.
Incident started at 14:29 and ended at 16:15 making 1.8 hrs in total. There were 9 Wasdale team members involved and the incident occured at NY196 074 (altitude 342 m). Total rescuer hours: 16
