A call was received from Cumbria Police about a walker who had fallen, hurt his ankle and was unable to bear weight.
It was difficult initially to determine the exact location. As such, a full callout was made to either support the coastguard team if required, or if the location was determined to be MRT responsibility. Direct communication was then established with the Whitehaven coastguard team, and it transpired that they were already close to the scene and were able to deal with all aspects of the rescue. The team stood down and returned to base.
Incident started at 13:06 and ended at 14:12 making 1.1 hrs in total. There were 18 Wasdale team members involved and the incident occured at NX 94548 13428. Total rescuer hours: 20
