A call was received via Langdale Ambleside MRT, about a fell runner in an organised race showing the symptoms of hypothermia, appearing confused and stumbling. Other fell runners were assisting her to the next checkpoint.
The Team Leader requested support from Duddon and Furness MRT due to slightly low numbers, and as they would likely be able to access the fell runner more quickly from their base. They responded quickly. The race paramedics also responded and were first to meet the descending party in Moasdale, close to Cockley Beck. Duddon and Furness MRT were on scene shortly afterwards, by which time the runner was moving well and had recovered somewhat. Thankfully, the fell-runner was able to make it to Cockley Beck under her own steam. A good outcome.

Incident started at 15:22 and ended at 18:02 making 2.7 hrs in total. There were 12 Wasdale team members involved and the incident occured at NY 238061. Total rescuer hours: 32
