We were alerted by Cumbria Police regarding two walkers and a dog lost on Middle Fell. They had missed the path in failing light and got into difficult ground.
They were found by search dog Jess.
A painful ascent (due to gorse!) was then made up to easier ground, before walking off the hill.
Incident started at 21:23 and ended at 00:52 making 3.5 hrs in total. There were 2 Wasdale team members involved and the incident occured at NY 148 064. Total rescuer hours: 7
