Poor weather on the way up

The team were contacted by the police for a young couple from Derby who were lost close to the summit of Scafell Pike in poor visibility. Their position was determined from a smartphone and a total of nine team members went on the fell in wet and windy conditions. The pair were wet and cold but after being warmed up inside a bivvi tent and equipped with dry mitts they were able to walk down to Wasdale.

Incident started at 14:08 and ended at 20:10 making 6 hrs in total. There were 14 Wasdale team members involved and the incident occured at NY 21286 07203 (altitude 931 m). Total rescuer hours: 84
