Assembling the stretcher whilst the casualty is given cas-care in the bivvi tent
The team were called out just after midnight to assist a male walker who had taken a 20ft tumble fall into Skew Gill from near the Corridor Route and sustained suspected arm and leg fractures. The casualty was given casualty care and analgesia on scene. His injured limbs were splinted and he was placed in a vacuum mattress for the descent. This took a couple of hours in wet and slippery conditions down to Burnthwaite where the casualty was transferred to a road ambulance. The incident was finished around 6am.
The casualty is given a last check by one of the team doctors before the descent begins
Incident started at 00:22 and ended at 05:50 making 5.5 hrs in total. There were 20 Wasdale team members involved and the incident occured at NY 22060 09122 (altitude 459 m). Total rescuer hours: 110
