The team was contacted by a group containing two pairs of walkers who were lost not far from the summit of Scafell Pike, in very poor weather. An attempt was made to talk them off the hill, but phone reception was soon lost and when they had not turned up a few hours later a limited callout was made to search for them. They were found near Taw House in Eskdale having descended to the wrong valley.
Incident started at 13:20 and ended at 18:30 making 5.2 hrs in total. There were 12 Wasdale team members involved and the incident occured at NY 2064 0122 (altitude 104 m). Total rescuer hours: 62
