The team was notified by Cumbria Police when a caller reported that a head torch had not moved for some time on the Screes. They were concerned for the person’s safety.
The Team Leader asked a team member who lived in the valley to investigate. Happily by the time they arrived at the lakeside the light had started to move. They were able to meet up with the walker and confirm that all was well. A false alarm with good intent and a happy outcome.
Incident started at 23:26 and ended at 00:47 making 1.4 hrs in total. There were 2 Wasdale team members involved and the incident occured at NY 15667 04997. Total rescuer hours: 2.8
