Diagnosis
The team was called by Cumbria Police on Saturday night about a lone walker who had fallen, with head, knee and ankle injuries. He was near the summit and unable to continue. Conditions were very unfavourable with rain, poor visibility and very windy. As he was intending to sleep on the fell overnight he had a sleeping bag which he was asked to get into whilst awaiting help.
Due to slightly low numbers, and the potential for a long and difficult stretcher carry, Keswick MRT were asked to help. Once on scene, extra shelter, insulation, and food and drink was provided, alongside a medical assessment and some pain relief. Following this, the walker was able to walk with some assistance part of the way, however, later a stretcher was required. It was decided that the route down to Seathwaite was the better option from Sty Head, so after some help over the tricky ground initially, the teams went their separate ways and the walker was carried by the Keswick team to an awaiting ambulance for further assessment. Our thanks to Keswick MRT for their help and we wish the walker a swift recovery.

Incident started at 19:24 and ended at 03:06 making 7.7 hrs in total. There were 12 Wasdale team members involved and the incident occured at NY212103. Total rescuer hours: 92
