The team were alerted to an overdue 27 year old male walker who was walking over Great Gable and Scafell Pike. As further information was being gathered he turned up safe and well.

The team was called out to help a walker with a hip injury. He was assessed by a team doctor before being carried to an ambulance by stretcher.
We were contacted by Police about a man who had lost the path on the Napes side of Great Gable due to low cloud. By the time we contacted him he had re-joined the path and was able to make his own way off the mountain.
We were called out to search for a overdue male, last seen on one of the Great Gable ridges. As we left HQ we were informed by the Police that the male had turned up safe and well. 9 team members involved.
Two adult walkers became disorientated in poor visibility on Great Gable. They had walked from Borrowdale and ascended Green Gable before losing their way on the Great Gable summit area. Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team were called out to assist a 77 year old man who was suffering from leg cramp and unable to walk. He was located on the top of Great Gable so, to avoid a protracted and uncomfortable stretcher ride, assistance from an air ambulance was requested. North Read more

A mobile phone call came into the Police from a group of walkers who were descending Great Gable and could hear persistent shouts for help coming from the area around the Napes. A full callout was made and around 15 team members attended and made a search of the area. Read more
Call from the police for 70 year old male walker who was overdue on Great Gable. Whilst team members assembled ready to search the mountain the missing walker turned up safe and well. Incident stood down at 11.30 pm.
Two people phoned the police to say they were lost on Great Gable. The said they were stuck on a crag overlooking the Wasdale Head Hotel. The Team’s leader made calls to the lost persons and established that they were on the grassy col at the top of Great Hellgate. Read more
