The team was called out to search for a missing walker who had failed to return from a walk up Scafell Pike. Along with other mountain rescue teams we searched all the routes up Scafell Pike overnight without success. A more detailed search started in the morning and sadly a body was found in Piers Gill. Team members from four mountain rescue teams and a helicopter from RAF Boulmer assisted in the difficult recovery operation that followed.
Incident started at 23:45 and ended at 17:00 making 17.3 hrs in total. There were 24 Wasdale team members involved and the incident occured at NY 212 083 (altitude 593 m). Total rescuer hours: 415
