Later a separate call was received from friends of the second group in a similar position but with two of their group overdue.
It was established that there was now a party of three walkers who were believed to be together but now significantly overdue. After giving some time for the walkers to walk out in the morning a limited callout was made to search the most likely location in Upper Eskdale. However, before deployment on the fell, the walkers made contact and confirmed, despite a rough night in poor weather, they were safe and well and now on the correct path to Wasdale.
Incident started at 08:35 and ended at 11:18 making 2.7 hrs in total. There were 16 Wasdale team members involved and the incident occured at NY 18320 07396. Total rescuer hours: 43
