Summary
Cumbria Police received a call from a member of the public regarding an exhausted and significantly dehydrated male, approximately 200 metres below the summit of Scafell Pike. He was unable to continue, showing clear signs of fatigue, dehydration, and reduced ability to make safe progress.

The MRT Team Leader made contact and gathered further details. The group who had come across the walker provided food and water, which made a noticeable difference — dehydration was a major factor in his condition, and the simple act of rehydrating allowed him to recover enough to move again.A limited team was called out.

As team members began making their way up the hill, it was confirmed that the walker had made good progress under his own steam once rehydrated and rested. MRT met him lower down and ensured he reached the valley safely.

Incident started at 21:44 and ended at 23:52 making 2.1 hrs in total. There were 5 Wasdale team members involved and the incident occured at NY 21100 07482. Total rescuer hours: 11
