Cumbria police alerted the team of 2x people on Wastwater who had fallen off their canoe into the water. They were shouting for help, this was reported to the police by a walker descending Scafell Pike.
As the team were gathering at base to get the rescue boat deployed the team leader was notified by the police that the people were safely out of the water. The team were stood down.
Incident started at 15:16 and ended at 15:55 making 0.7 hrs in total. There were 18 Wasdale team members involved. Total rescuer hours: 13
