The team was called on Sunday morning for a walker who had slipped on the descent from Scafell Pike, injuring his ankle. He was unable to bear any weight.
A full callout followed, and once on scene a medical assessment was made before some pain relief and splinting of the ankle. After transfer to the stretcher the walker was transferred down to Brackenclose, where a handover was made to a land ambulance for subsequent transport to hospital.
We wish the walker a swift recovery, and hope to see him back on the fell soon.
Incident started at 07:22 and ended at 11:17 making 3.9 hrs in total. There were 19 Wasdale team members involved and the incident occured at NY193073. Total rescuer hours: 74
