We were called by NWAS to assist with a walker who’d injured themselves by standing on a wire which became impaled in their foot. The Seascale Fire & Rescue crew had attended and cut the walker free from the remainder of the wire. The team splinted the limb to control further bleeding then carried the casualty to the waiting ambulance for the journey to hospital.
Incident started at 18:45 and ended at 20:12 making 1.5 hrs in total. There were 12 Wasdale team members involved and the incident occured at NY149 051. Total rescuer hours: 18
