A pair of walkers dialed 999 after becoming lost on Scafell Pike. The duty team leader had several broken conversations with them by mobile phone, due to poor reception. Eventually they reached Lingmell Col and made their own way down to Wasdale Head.
It is worth noting that setting off at 3pm at this time of year requires the ability and equipment to navigate in darkness. For further details see our article here.
