We were called by the police about 2 walkers who reported themselves lost in the snow, they thought near the summit of Scafell Pike. Text Messages were sent, but it wasn’t possible to speak to them until some time later, by which time they had found a path and were making their way off the hill. 1 team member went in search of the car to leave a message asking them to get in touch when they were down, which they did.
They managed to get themselves off the hill without the team having to deploy.
Incident started at 14:59 and ended at 17:48 making 2.8 hrs in total. There were 3 Wasdale team members involved and the incident occured at NY216073. Total rescuer hours: 8
