The air ambulance taking off in front of Lingmell Nose

Callout from the police for a lady in her late 30s with an injured leg.  The group were descending from Scafell Pike along the Lingmel Nose traverse path when she slipped and sustained a fracture dislocation of her ankle.  The team attended along with an Air Ambulance that landed on level ground 400m from the casualty site.  The lady was given casualty care and her ankle splinted before being stretcher carried down the fell to the Air Ambulance.  She was flown to West Cumberland Hospital along with the team doctor.  The remainder of her walking group were walked off the fell.  19 team members attended and the incident was closed at 8.30 p.m. 

Incident started at 17:58 and ended at 20:30 making 2.5 hrs in total. There were 19 Wasdale team members involved and the incident occured at NY 18990 07495 (altitude 226 m). Total rescuer hours: 48
