Brown Tongue, Scafell Pike – Sat 6th Aug 2016

We were called by NWAS for a lady who had injured her ankle whilst descending Scafell Pike, finally coming to a stop just below the intake wall on Brown Tongue. She was examined on scene by a team doctor and then taken by stretcher down to the waiting ambulance.

Brown Tongue, Scafell Pike – Fri 5th Aug 2016

We were called by Police about 2 young walkers who’d become separated from their group whilst descending Scafell Pike and were now lost / stuck somewhere in the Lingmell Gill area. We located them in the ground between Lingmell Gill and Brown Tongue and then walked them down to Brackenclose.

Brown Tongue, Scafell Pike – Tue 21st Jun 2016

Team called by Police this evening to help rescue a dog with sore paws from Scafell Pike. The owners managed to get it almost to the stream crossing on Brown Tongue after bandaging up the paws then team members carried it the rest of the way in a large rucksack.

Brown Tongue, Scafell Pike – Mon 24th Aug 2015

Thea team was called out to attend a man who had sustained a head injury on the Brown Tongue path on Scafell Pike. He was assessed at the scene and then escorted down to an ambulance at Brackenclose.

The team was called out this afternoon to go to the aid of a 15 year old male who had taken a slip on wet grass and torn his calf muscle descending Scafell Pike. The team doctor treated him at the scene and then he was stretchered from the mountain. Read more…

We were contacted by Police about a man on the 3 peaks who was struggling to descend Scafell Pike due to a knee injury. He was given pain relief on scene and then stretchered down to Brackenclose. Incident closed 09:30. 13 team members involved.

The team was called out at around 05:00 to help a female walker who had a suspected broken leg on Scafell Pike. She was treated by the team and transferred by stretcher to an ambulance waiting in the valley.

Down at the vehicles at Brackenclose

Brown Tongue, Scafell Pike – Sun 9th Sep 2012

The team was called out to rescue a member of a three peaks challenge group from near the stream crossing below Brown Tongue. He had a leg injury and was unable to complete the descent. We gave casualty care before stretchering him down to Brackenclose. 14 team members attended.
