Whilst descending off Scafell Pike summit a couple of walkers became disorientated in low cloud. Due to the terrain and the sudden temperature drop, the couple decided to call for help.
During the original 999 call the Police asked the couple if they could see any others in the vicinity and if they did they should then follow them back down off the hill. As a result of this advice the couple were able to subsequently self-rescue without the deployment of the team.
Incident started at 11:52 and ended at 14:02 making 2.2 hrs in total. There was 1 Wasdale team member involved and the incident occured at NY 214 072. Total rescuer hours: 2.2
