Napes, Great Gable – Thu 10th Jun 2010 – Callout 27 in 2010

Cumbria Police called out the team to recover the body of a 71 year old male walker who had been found by walkers below Great Napes Crags in the gulley between Sphinx and Arrowhead Ridge. He had sustained fatal injuries after falling around 20 to 30 metres. He had been missing for three days after setting off from Seathwaite. Keswick MRT and SARDA (Lakes) had been searching for the walker since he went missing. Nineteen team members attended and stretchered him back down to Wasdale Head. Incident closed at around 8.00 p.m.
