Green How, Scafell – Tue 16th Aug 2016 – Alert

We were called by Police about reports of flashing lights, potentially in the Green How area of Scafell that were visible from the campsite. A team member went to investigate and could not see the lights and later on nor could the original informants. Incident stood down as a false alarm with good intent.

Haycock – Tue 16th Aug 2016 – Callout 49 in 2016

We were called by Police about a walker who had injured their ankle on Haycock and could no longer walk. The North West Air Ambulance also attended and was able to take the casualty to hospital before we arrived.

Hardknott Pass – Sat 13th Aug 2016 – Callout 48 in 2016

The team was called out for a second time in the day. This time to assist Duddon and Furness Mountain Rescue Team with an incident on Hardknott Pass. We were stood down en-route as the casualty was airlifted by the air ambulance.

Kells, Whitehaven – Sat 13th Aug 2016 – Callout 47 in 2016

Team called out this morning to assist NWAS with a casualty suffering chest pains on the old Marchon Site. The team deployed and assisted NWAS in carrying the patient to a land ambulance.

Broad Crag – Sun 7th Aug 2016 – Callout 46 in 2016

We were called by Police about 2 walker who were caught out by the weather and become lost in the Broad Crag area. They were located with the help of Sarloc. Once team members got on scene they were given warm clothing then helped to walk back down to Wasdale Head.

Scafell Pike – Sun 7th Aug 2016 – Alert

Team called by Police about 2 runners on a 3 peaks attempt reported overdue back Wasdale Head. The team leader gave them longer to turn up and around 03:00 they made their own way out to Eskdale, safe & well.

Brown Tongue, Scafell Pike – Sat 6th Aug 2016 – Callout 44 in 2016

We were called by NWAS about a walker who was reported to have ‘collapsed’. Originally the location was given as Esk Pike but after some investigation turned out to the Scafell Pike. The walker was met just below Hollowstones on the Brown Tongue Path and then assistance was provided to help her reach the bottom.

Brown Tongue, Scafell Pike – Sat 6th Aug 2016 – Callout 43 in 2016

We were called by NWAS for a lady who had injured her ankle whilst descending Scafell Pike, finally coming to a stop just below the intake wall on Brown Tongue. She was examined on scene by a team doctor and then taken by stretcher down to the waiting ambulance.

Brown Tongue, Scafell Pike – Fri 5th Aug 2016 – Callout 42 in 2016 (limited)

We were called by Police about 2 young walkers who’d become separated from their group whilst descending Scafell Pike and were now lost / stuck somewhere in the Lingmell Gill area. We located them in the ground between Lingmell Gill and Brown Tongue and then walked them down to Brackenclose.
