Scafell Pike – Tue 22nd Apr 2008 – Callout 18 in 2008

Police paged the team to assist a walker who had reportedly fallen into a crevasse on Scafell Pike and was shouting for help. His companion could not see him from above [ although the informant was unsure as to which mountain he was actually climbing]. The fallen walker managed to climb out of the crevasse with the assistance of his companion while the team were traveling to the incident. There are no glaciers in Wasdale. Incident stood down at 9:00 hrs Around 12 team members attended – location of where the walker fell on Scafell remains a mystery
